Vodafone not to long ago released red plans. They are now offering unlimited minutes and txts. It’s a pretty good move on Vodafone’s part, although im pretty sure that they are losing a lot of customers due to the fact that their max data is only 2GB, sure you can add 1GB for £6 on top of your monthly tariff.
The likes of three, orange and o2 are offering unlimited data or ‘all you can eat’ data. It’s weird how they are allowed to offer such things when that’s impossible. In saying that in their terms and conditions I can’t find where it says it’s a ‘fair usage policy’, meaning caped at a certain amount of GB. That being said, there’s only so much you can download on a smart phone, apps, few videos, music etc.. But even at that you would use as much data as you would on a computer, I mean me for example id probably tear through about 10GB if I tried! Meaning, I wouldn’t just download random shite, shite movies etc.. Just because I ‘can’ with ‘all i can eat data’. If I used my phone everyday, visited loads of websites and just basically used my phone for downloading a few videos and songs, which i wouldn’t because i would just download everything via my 100MB connection at home then fire them onto my phone to save myself time.
People use their phones to show their mates a few ‘clips’ or photos, and to hear a few songs maybe that’s about it. One of the reasons i can see the ‘all you can eat data’ being used most for would be people who have like… a party at home and they have it hooked up to a dock and don’t have home broadband (yeah right!). In saying that, most homes these days at least have a few MB connections and just connect to their own wi-fi instead of using their data, so I don’t know what the fuck.
Me personally, I think Vodafone should offer more data at a cheaper rate, or included in their plans. The amount of people who move away from Vodafone because there isn’t enough data, (not saying the customer would use all that data) but the more they see the more they think ‘hmm that’s a good deal’, solely because it’s just more, yet they are never gonna use it, so they go with that provider even though they are shit with signal.
Personally I’ve been with o2 a while now just on pay and go, but their signal is fucking shit, it used to be good but now it sucks dick. I’ve looked at the coverage checker on their website and it says I’ve good signal where i live, but it just lies.
Anyway, just came on to talk about the Vodafone Red plans and thought they were pretty sweet with the unlimited minutes and texts. Other providers offer unlimited minutes and texts to THEIR network, and give you like 1000 or even less minutes to other networks and landlines (which cost), but Vodafone offer truly unlimited minutes.
